Working with Document Tabs¶

Acoustica can have any number of documents open at the same time — clips, multitrack sessions and CD projects — and each of them gets a tab above the editor area. Click a tab to bring that document to the front.

Moving Between Documents¶

These commands are in the View menu. They cycle through the open documents in tab order, which is quicker than reaching for the mouse when you are comparing two recordings.

Panes such as the Processing Chain, the analyzers and the Media File Browser are shared by all documents and always act on the document that is currently in front.

Closing Documents¶

Close (File menu, Ctrl/⌘ + F4) closes the document in front.
Close All Files (File menu) closes every open document at once.

You are asked whether to save any document that has unsaved changes before it is closed.

Reopening Recent Documents¶

The Recent Files section at the bottom of the File menu lists the documents you have opened most recently; the same list appears on the Launch Page. Selecting an entry reopens that file.

To reopen a whole working session rather than a single file — every open document, the processing chain and the window pane layout — use a workspace file instead. See Saving and Loading Workspace Files.
