Customizing the Toolbar¶

New in Acoustica 8, the main toolbar can be rearranged to hold exactly the commands you use. Each document type keeps its own toolbar, so a clip editor, a multitrack session and a CD project can each show a different set of buttons.

To edit a toolbar, choose Customize Toolbar... from the View menu.

The window contains a document type drop-down list at the top and two lists below it:

The left list shows the commands that are available but not yet on the toolbar. A search field above the list filters it as you type.
The right list shows the commands that are currently on the toolbar, in the order they appear from left to right.

The two buttons between the lists move commands between them:

The right arrow adds the command selected in the left list to the end of the toolbar.
The left arrow removes the command selected in the right list from the toolbar.

Choosing the Document Type¶

The drop-down list at the top selects which toolbar you are editing:

Clip Document — the toolbar of the clip editor
Multitrack Document — the toolbar of a multitrack session
CD Project Document — the toolbar of a CD project

The list of available commands changes with the document type, since a command that does not exist for a document type cannot be placed on its toolbar.

Changes to all three toolbars are kept while the window is open and are written together when you click Apply or OK, so you can set up more than one toolbar in a single visit.

Changing the Order¶

Drag an entry within the right hand list to move it. An insertion line shows where the command will land when you release the mouse button. The order in the list is the order of the buttons in the toolbar.

Adding Separators¶

The entry - Separator - at the top of the available commands list inserts a vertical divider into the toolbar. You can add it as many times as you like to group related buttons.
