Moving and Grouping Clips

Moving Clips

You can move a clip in time by pressing and holding down the left mouse button on the center of the clip you would like to move. The mouse will change to a hand icon as shown below.

Drag the clip to its new location in time and release the left mouse button to place it.

Clips can also be dragged to another track in the same way.

If you want to move several clips, you can hold down the Shift button on your keyboard while clicking the clips you want to move to select them. The clips are are now highlighted and you can use the same procedure as for single clips to move the group of clips.

Grouping Clips

If you have a set of clips that should always be moved together, you can group clips.

Highlight the clips you want group by holding Shift and clicking each clip that you would like to group. Next:

  • press Cmd + G on Mac or Ctrl + G on Windows.
  • choose Group Clips from the Clips menu. >Clips file menu dropdown
  • right click the clip and select Group Clips from the menu > Clips right click menu

To ungroup, simply click one of the clips in the group to highlight all the clips and:

  • press Cmd + U on Mac or Ctrl + U on Windows.
  • choose Ungroup Clips from the Clips menu shown above.
  • right click the clip and select Ungroup Clips from the menu shown above.
