The Pro Tools Link Tool

Premium and Ultimate Edition Only

This feature is available in the Premium and Ultimate Editions only.

Acoustica Premium and Ultimate Editions are delivered with an AAX plug-in that simplifies audio transfers from Pro Tools to Acoustica and back again after processing.

  1. Select the audio in Pro Tools that you want to transfer to Acoustica.

  2. Choose AudioSuite > Other > Acoustica 8 Link from the main menu in Pro Tools.

  3. The Link tool opens.

  4. Do your editing in the clip editor in Acoustica as you are used to. You can use all the editing tools available and even change the duration of the audio. In this case, we have applied a Reverse process.

  5. Click the up arrow button indicated in the above image with a red box to send the edited audio back to Pro Tools.

  6. Pro Tools and the Link plugin will now be focused by your computer, and the Link plugin will display an updated waveform for the new edited file. Click the Render button in the bottom right of the Link plugin window to render the audio back into your Pro Tools track. The Render button is indicated below with a red arrow.

  7. The Link plugin returns to its initial interface with no waveform graphic, indicating it is ready to transfer the next file.
