Pro Tools

In Pro Tools, Acoustica 8 is available as an integrated ARA plugin. Users can open and work with Acoustica within Pro Tools by selecting ARA Plugins in Pro Tools, as described below.

A Link plug-in is also provided to facilitate sending files back and forth when working with the standalone version of Acoustica 8. If you prefer this workflow, it is documented in The Pro Tools Link Tool.

Step-by-step guide

For this guide, we assume that you have set up a Pro Tools session with an audio file present on an audio track. If you are unsure how to do so, please refer to the Pro Tools manual and user guides.

  1. First, select the audio event or events which you would like to edit with Acoustica 8.

  2. We will now add an ARA Plugin to the selected events in one of a few ways:

    • Select the Clip you would like to work with. Now use the Clip menu in the top menu bar to navigate to Clip > ARA Plugins > Acoustica 8 ARA. Click this option.
    • Select the Track containing the audio you would like to work with. Now use the Track menu in the top menu bar to navigate to Track > ARA Plugins > Acoustica 8 ARA. Click this option.
    • On the track you would like to work with, click the Elastic Audio or ARA Plugin Selector button, as shown below. From the dropdown menu, select ARA Plugin > Acoustica 8 ARA. Pro Tools ARA Plugin selector
  3. Acoustica 8 will now open within it's own window in Pro Tools. By default, the window is docked as shown below. You can now make your edits and use all of Acoustica's processes and tools to edit your event. You changes will automatically synchronize with your Pro Tools session.
