How to use drag and drop editing in Acoustica

You can move or copy regions using drag and drop editing. For more information on regions, see the Selecting regions page.

Moving a region to a another location in the same editing window or to another editing window

  • Select the region you wish to move.

  • Click somewhere within the highlighted region and keep the mouse button down.

  • Move the mouse cursor to the new start position without holding down any modifier key and release the mouse button.

To insert a copy of a region using drag and drop

  • Select the region you wish to copy.

  • Click somewhere within the highlighted region and keep the mouse button down.

  • Press the Ctrl key while moving the mouse cursor to the insert position and release the mouse button.

To mix a region into another location using drag and drop

  • Select the region you wish to mix in.

  • Click somewhere within the highlighted region and keep the mouse button down.

  • Press the Shift key while moving the mouse cursor to the target position and release the mouse button. The dragged audio is mixed with the audio already present instead of being inserted.

The mouse cursor changes shape to indicate whether the drag will move, copy or mix the selection.
