Docking Window Panes

Acoustica makes it easy to create your own custom window layout. Pane windows can be docked at one of the sides of an existing pane window. You can also group pane windows so that each window is represented with a tab in a header.

Docking and Undocking Window Panes

To dock or undock a pane window, click and hold the header of a pane window or the tab header as shown below, highlighted in yellow.

Window header highlight

While holding the mouse button, drag the window to release it from its current position.

Undocked window

You can dock the window by mousing over one of the four arrows that appear inside the pane you are hovering over, pictured above over the yellow waveform. Each pane has its own set of arrows. Mousing over the left arrow in the above image will dock the Processing Tools pane to the left of the Clip Editor waveform in the center of the interface.

If you drag the pane over one of the sections on the edge of the interface, a folder will appear at the center of the 4 arrows. If you mouse over the folder icon and release the mouse button, the pane will be added as a selectable tab.

Window folder

You can detach a window completely by releasing the mouse button outside any of the dock buttons. This is handy for multi-monitor setups where you might want to place pane windows on a separate monitor.

Restoring the Default Layout

You can always restore the default pane layout by choosing Default Layout from the Factory Layouts sub menu in the View menu.
