Acoustica 8 for music production: AI-powered stem separation, spectral editing, and pro mastering tools. Perpetual license, no subscription. Try free for 30 days.
Noise removal, hum and click cleanup, and surgical spectral repair in one perpetual-license toolkit that speeds up your workflow.
In continuous development for over 25 years, Acoustica 8 is a professional audio editing and restoration package for music production:
- Standalone application plus an extensive plugin suite
- AudioSuite and ARA2 integration for Pro Tools and other compatible DAWs
- Perpetual license, no subscription
New in Acoustica 8: restoration tools built to work for your ears, not instead of them
DeNoise 3 and DeHum 3 use machine learning to handle the repetitive cleanup, so you can spend your time on the creative and technical decisions only you can make:
- DeNoise 3 clears noisy takes fast
- DeHum 3 pulls amp and ground hum
Upgraded spectral editing for detailed repairs
New spectral tools give you finer, faster hands-on control:
- AudioFill for seamless repairs
- Feathering for smoother, more natural edits
- Stereo View for precise work across both channels
Use them to fix a chair creak in a quiet acoustic take, a stray string squeak, or a phone buzz bleeding into a vocal.
Together with Acoustica's existing restoration and editing tools, Acoustica 8 is designed to make skilled engineering faster, not to replace the skill behind it.
Using Acoustica in Music Production
In this video, we walk through Acoustica 8 from a producer's point of view, covering what's new and what's carried over from version 7. We start with the redesigned workspace and its dockable Processing Tools panel. Then we show DeNoise 3 and DeHum 3 clearing broadband noise and unsteady buzz, followed by the upgraded Spectral Editor, where AudioFill rebuilds dropouts, Select Similar catches repeated clicks in one pass, and feathering and Stereo View keep repairs clean. We also introduce the new Drum Production Suite, which uses Remix:Drums to rebalance a kit and DeBleed:Drums to clean up crosstalk between mics.
The second half puts it all together on a live-tracked band session. We take it from amp hum, drum bleed and a chair creak through to a loudness-checked master, using Remix, the multitrack editor, ARA 2 and the Mix & Mastering Suite along the way. We finish with a look at the Standard, Premium and Ultimate editions. Links to the free trial and the full comparison are below.
Music Production Feature Hightlights
The tools music pros reach for first, on every project.

DENOISE 3
DeNoise 3 cleans up unwanted noise in your recordings, like hiss from a guitar amp, a computer fan behind a vocal, or tape hiss on old samples. Acoustica 8 adds a new machine learning mode that works instantly, with no noise profile needed, so you get clean, reliable results straight away. There's also a manual mode that uses a noise profile, just like DeNoise 2.

DEHUM 3
DeHum 3 removes the hum and buzz that can creep into your recordings, like hum from a badly grounded guitar amp, buzz from single-coil pickups, or noise from cables running near power supplies. It also handles other steady tonal noise, such as the whine of a nearby motor. Adaptive mode follows the hum as its pitch drifts, so it keeps working even when the hum changes over time.

DRUM PRODUCTION SUITE
The Drum Production Suite gives you more control over your drum recordings. DeBleed:Drums reduces spill between close mics, like cymbals leaking into the snare mic, for a tighter sound that's easier to mix. Remix:Drums splits a drum loop or mix into its individual parts, so you can turn up the snare or tame the hi-hats without the multitracks.

MIX & MASTERING SUITE
The Mix & Mastering Suite has the tools you need to finish a track, from the first mix to the final master. You can shape your sound with clean, precise EQ, control dynamics so vocals and drums sit right in the mix, and use a transparent limiter to make the final master loud without losing punch.

REMIX
Remix lets you rebalance a finished mix, which is ideal when you're mastering your own tracks and the multitracks aren't to hand. You can bring the vocals forward, tighten a boomy bass or add punch to the drums, all from the stereo file. In Acoustica, you can also use Remix in multitrack session mode to extract stems onto separate tracks, so you can rework old projects, create remixes or make your own backing tracks.

AUDIO FILL
AudioFill fixes short glitches that can spoil a great take, like a click from a rough edit, a digital dropout, a mouth click on a vocal or a pop from a faulty cable. Just select the problem area, and AudioFill replaces it with new audio based on what comes before and after, so the repair blends in naturally.
