Acon Digital And AI
Acon Digital develops AI to support audio professionals, using only ethically sourced, licensed, open-source, or synthetic data with permission, while remaining committed to transparency.

The Acon team at our Oslo HQ
At Acon Digital, our commitment lies in empowering the music and audio production community. We strive to develop advanced technologies that serve as essential assistants to audio professionals, rather than replacements for their specialized skills. By collaborating closely with industry experts, we ensure our tools utilize modern innovations to meaningfully enhance their professional workflows.
Our Commitment to Ethical AI Training Data
As machine learning becomes an increasingly important part of how we build audio tools for our customers, we want to be completely clear and upfront about how we train our models and where that training data comes from.
All machine learning processes at Acon Digital are built exclusively on the following sources:
- Original content created by Acon Digital, recorded and produced specifically for the purpose of training our models.
- Licensed sound libraries, where the rights holders have explicitly granted us permission to use their content for machine learning and training purposes.
- Open source audio content, made available under licenses that permit its use for this purpose.
Synthetic audio samples, created for various tasks, such as combining real and synthetic hum audio for DeHum models, or creating synthetic musical instrument audio using MIDI for improving products like Remix.
We do not use any audio content for training unless we have clear, verifiable permission to do so. There are no exceptions to this principle.
We’re very aware of the fact that many creators have invested years — sometimes lifetimes — into the recordings, performances, and sound libraries that make up the audio world, and that work should be respected.
Our CTO and Founder Stian Aagedal adds “At Acon Digital, our AI development is guided by ethical integrity. We train our models only on data we have permission to use, and we design our tools as assistants to empower creative professionals, never as their replacement.";
Looking forward, as our use of machine learning continues to grow, we can assure you that this commitment will not change. We’ll continue to source training data responsibly, work with partners who share our values, and remain fully open about our practices.
If you have questions about this statement or our approach to AI training data, we welcome you to reach out to us directly.
