Acon Digital and Soundly Join Forces with HANCE

Acon Digital and Soundly have collaborated to create HANCE – a new company focused on machine learning and audio processing. The strategic partnership with HANCE will allow Acon Digital to develop new solutions based on machine learning faster, and thus secure Acon Digital's position as an innovator in the field. The HANCE Audio Engine is a light-weight and cross-platform model inference library that is already used in several Acon Digital products such as Remix, Extract:Dialogue and DeVerberate 3. HANCE licenses this technology to other companies on a B2B basis.

The HANCE Audio Engine, developed by Acon Digital and Soundly engineers, is the result of years of research and experimentation in audio processing and machine learning. The engine is built on deep learning and can tackle complex tasks like noise reduction, reverb removal, stem separation, dialogue boost, and music removal. It is also extremely CPU-efficient and has a low memory footprint, making it suitable for various applications, including video conferencing, live broadcasting and audio forensics.

HANCE was born out of the shared interest in audio processing and machine learning between Stian Aagedal from Acon Digital, and Peder Jørgensen and Erling Hoff from Soundly. Acon Digital saw the need for additional data to improve their algorithms, and Soundly provided the necessary data through its massive sound library. Both companies improved their products and offered better solutions to their users through their partnership. They identified a gap in the market and utilized their shared expertise to create HANCE.

HANCE primarily targets businesses and organizations, offering licensing opportunities for companies to integrate HANCE’s audio enhancement technologies into their products and services. HANCE.ai provides examples and allows users to try the HANCE algorithms on their own files.
